I've been hit with this twice recently, I'm 31 and have been dating 25/26yos because frankly my ex was 38 and I want a younger model

The last one I met on a night out, we talked and laughed and exchanged numbers. 2 days later we had a first date. We had a fire on the beach and watched the sun set. There was kissing and romance and she described it as 'perfect'. When I dropped her off I watched her in the rear view mirror as she stopped and turn around and wave to me bye bye. Since then she went on holiday with her family for a week, we talked every day and arranged another date. For genuine reasons she had to cancel and I said 'hey if you want to reschedule let me know'

The response to this had me reeling a bit because of how perfectly our date went. And I've been on a few so as much as I know I don't play a perfect game, I'm no retard either.

She sent a long text, repeatedly saying 'I don't know what to do, I've been thinking a lot about this, I'm not quite ready to be dating yet'. Dating me, I am inclined to think. She recently came out of a LTR. The bit which slightly angered me was the 'if when I'm ready and you're still single I want to see you again'. Breadcrumb

Anyway, my response was fairly direct in that I want her but adequately non-desperate to not attempt to reschedule.

For the better at this than I am, do I just ignore? I was half tempted to say that shit no I won't wait, I want you now, and it's not reasonable to say that or expect it from someone.

This is someone I really did feel a strong connection with. Unfortunately maybe the long distance texting while she was on holiday might have been counterproductive and I should have made her miss me / ignored. Problem is, she seems tender and ignoring nice people feels so wrong!

Thoughts?
