Quit waiting for her to ask for your name, if she ever does. Whenever I don't introduce myself, or she doesn't know my name within the first few lines of dialogue, she drops out after I open like one conversational thread and we have a 30s conversation.

When she asks for it, or I introduce myself, ask for her name, we usually have a good rapport building conversation. You establish yourself as someone who wants to have a genuine conversation and feel things out before a date, instead of a quick conversation with 1-2 threads and dip out back to doing business. It gets increasingly awkward as she doesn't know your name, and she drops and can't take the social pressure.

So, introduce yourself! Otherwise you're asking for a girl who looks at you as some random guy coming up to her to ping off her but not wanting to take things forward. You get a lot personal when you do it right after your direct opener; e.g.

  • "What can I make with this, I've never seen it before..."*
  • "Well...nonsensical banal statement I don't remember"*
  • -smile- "I'm actually just kidding" -make a smile like I'm about to laugh- "You're cute and I wanted to talk to you, I'm Alex"
  • *"AHHHH THANKS! I'm ?!, where are you from?"

  • "Let me have two guesses what sport you play..."
  • "OK!"
  • "Track, or volleyball..."
  • "Close, I used to play volleyball, but I'm a swimmer!"
  • "Oh, how do you like it"
  • vibe off that thread for like two or three more lines of trading dialogue
  • "Oh... humble, I like that"
  • "Ok, bye :)"

If you didn't catch it the second girl I talked to never hooked, I was more situational because the environment is hard to pull of direct with (don't ask just know ;) trust me), but anyways, I never introduced myself or got her name, it makes a huge difference when you give her your name, instead of just vibing while never introducing yourself, so quit hiding your name, if she likes you, she'll invest in the conversation and stay around, asking you questions, giving you googly eyes and a smile.
