I'll try to keep this brief.

I'm hosting a party with my roommate in the near future. Going through the list of who to invite and who not to is pretty standard. It's not going to be a blowout with a ton of people by any means, so most of the people there will be people will both know personally from our college.

My main concern is when it comes to inviting some girls I have interest in. For one reason or another, whether I'm just in the friendzone or because neither of us has made the time/effort to hang out more, I'm not dating any of these girls. I have in my mind though that a social occasion like this can stimulate things though.

There's at least 3-4 of these girls that come to mind, one which I especially like (I know, bad). I honestly have little faith in any of their abilities to show up, because as I said, they are busy/not close/possibly not interested.

What do you guys do in this situation? Simply send out invites to all of them? I could see things getting a little hairy if they all do end up showing up. Or do I just invite the one I like the most and if/when she makes it clear she's not coming, keep moving that invite down the line?
