Is a comedy show a good first date?

Been chatting up this girl and would like to ask her out on a date, but want to avoid the typical coffee and whatnot.

So,

1) is a comedy show generally a good idea for a first date? (Comedy shows are very rare here and come once in a while)

2) when asking her out or if she’d like to join, any way I should be asking her. “Hey, would you want to join me in a comedy show”

Or is that bad way of asking?
