Is it ok to be weird?

Being weird is a blanket term. Johnny Depp is weird but so are hermits that don’t enjoy human interaction. It can mean multiple things.

Is it okay? That depends what your goals are. If your goal is to improve your life and grow as a person, then perhaps there’s elements people find weird that you can improve upon.

Take what you think is holding you back. Sticking points that seem to work against you in every day life. Whether it falls in the ‘weird’ category or not is irrelevant. The real categories are either ‘beneficial’ or ‘non-beneficial’.

Maybe you have an eclectic art collection you consider weird. That’s badass and unique; a ‘weird’ element that works! Maybe you act too spazzy or come off as awkward. That’s a weird element that can be improved upon.

weird is good if it's eloquent and eccentric. flamboyant or brilliant. witty. those things are endearing. weird as in socially stunted is a death sentence. learn social interactions. don't talk slow. don't stare. weird as in on the spectrum is a huge turn off. weird like wearing eyeliner as a guy and being from the middle East with a Sanskrit name, but blue eyes and tattoos, and a musician is fucking gold.

embrace your weird, but not your social intelligence shortcomings (if you have them)
