I am sure that this sub-reddit already got a ton of posts on the book, but there is something that I didn't find here.

Mark says in his book that you can be non-needy in two ways:

  1. Actually being non-needy
  2. Using performance that show that you are non-needy (pick-up tricks).

Now my question is this, is using pick-ups tricks needy? By his definition neediness is being invested in the perceptions of others more than the perceptions of himself, does it apply here?

I mean, think about it. On the one side, a guy can use tricks to attract a woman but it shows that he is more invested in her (using tricks to get her), on the other hand that guy is doing whatever the fuck he wants which is not needy.

What is the answer here people?

I know it's a bit confusing but try to understand it.
