I'm a firm believer that if you're interested in a girl, you should talk to her, build attraction, get her number in-person etc.
Last night, however, I was in a situation where I was hanging out with a few good friends, and one of my friends brought her friend along. This girl was so cool: witty, cute, and actually totally my type. I've been fortunate enough (and put in a lot of work!) to hook up with a handful of girls over the past six months, but this girl takes the cake in terms of personality and smarts (and looks tbh). Problem was, she stuck by my friend's side the whole night, and my best friend stuck with me, so me and her never got a chance to have a 1on1 conversation, just some short interactions. I was pretty stoned and not on my game tbh, so I really don't think I left much of an impression on her at all, and I didn't get her number. I'm decently good looking though, so that helps a lot of the time.
So, I'm left with this kind of dilemma, which I'm hoping you all could weigh in on. I could add her on facebook and strike up a conversation related to what we talked about last night, and I could transition that into asking her to go for a coffee. I usually think in abundance mentality, and I'm not sure if taking the time to reach out over facebook conveys neediness; it's usually my policy not to do that. At the same time, it might show some non-neediness if I just pursue what I'm after, which is her.
It's important to note that this girl is, from what I gathered last night, a pretty successful Twitch streamer, so I bet she gets all kind of weird attention from horny guys on there, and I definitely wouldn't want to blend in with those guys, who basically pay her to see her. That's why I'm very wary of sending an online message rather than asking her out in person. There's a slight chance I'll end up hanging out with her again before we return from the holiday vacation (only if our mutual friend ends up bringing her along next time that group hangs out). But, I'm not that close with the mutual friend, so it would be kinda weird to ask her for help, so it's pretty much down to chance whether I see her again.
The other option I was thinking about is reach out and offer to stream Smash Bros. with her. That's the game we had a conversation about at the hangout last night, so that might be a fun way to hang out with her. In some ways that feels less committal than asking her out for coffee, but in other ways it feels more so because it'd be asking to basically just go to her house alone, and I barely know this girl.
Overall, I'm definitely not trying to fall into the oneitis trap; however, this is a girl that really stands out from the rest, so I want to figure out what my best course of action is. Again, the main options I identified are 1) adding her on FB, messaging her about a common interest, asking her for coffee, 2) same thing, but ask if she wants to stream/play video games, 3) don't reach out and hope I see her again. I'm leaning towards 3 tbh. The optimal scenario is we hang out again, and I finally get to talk to her a lot, and then I ask her out.
