Many women are shy, and even if they like you they may not ask you questions. In the beginning when I approached women I realized the conversations were all about them. It was just a barrage of questions from me asking about them. This didn't build attraction, and more importantly it didn't allay their fears of going out with a complete stranger.
What I do now is I offer information about myself without waiting for them to ask. For example, I literally tell them what my profession is then ask them what they do. Or I can ask them what they do and then when they are over I tell them what I do. Either way, I am getting information about myself out there for her to absorb.
Sometimes when I approach I go on a streak of telling facts about myself. I do this to make sure the woman is comfortable with going out with me. I will approach a woman, say my name, then say a summary about myself, my passions, and my accomplishments. Even if she didn't ask.
Be able to talk about yourself. Be able to define who you are, what you do, and what you are about. These are necessary skills to have, not only for the dating world but for the interviewing world as well.
