Stopping negative thoughts about yourself can be incredibly difficult. Sometimes, it's really just a phase you can snap someone out of by some tough love. But often, it's part of an underlying mental issue. Then telling someone to "stop" is just as useless (and insensitive) as telling a depressed person "not to be sad".
In my case, just thinking positive thoughts about myself causes a genuine, physical reaction, similar to strong disgust. I'm slowly getting over it but it has already taken over a year of therapy and hard, mental work.

How is someone supposed to ask for help without telling you the negative things they know they are doing? It seems that poster knew what he was doing wrong but wanted advice on how to change his behavior and all you offered was "Don't do that" while belittling what he wrote to seek help. It's easy to say, "Don't do that." They know not to do that. What they need is references to replacement behavior instead of what they are doing. Basically, your post was just more bullying and offering no solutions.

You directed them to youtube videos and to "look at their current belief system and dialogue" but offered no outlook on a solution.

Here is an answer that offers actual actions he can practice to better his situation, rather than just telling him he's wrong (which e stated he already knew): No one is automatically attractive when randomly approaching a woman. Their first thought will always be, "Why is this creep talking to me?" A smile and a cheesy one-liner isn't enough ever. No one get's stary-eyed gazes from women in public so stop looking for it. You're a stranger. If she looks towards you it is most likely she is just pointing her face in your direction which she is more than allowed to do. Start with hi and ask about her. That's why you approached her. To know more about her. If you're in a book store ask her if she can make any sense out of how the categories are organized in the aisles because you can't. If you're in a grocery store grab a fucking spikey dragon fruit and ask her if she knows if it's a fruit, vegetable or death weapon. The most important part of the interaction is to not expect sex or a phone number or a date because women can sense that shit from a mile away. They are born then taught how to sense that shit. Be friendly and try to have a legitimate, fun conversation with someone. If you push sexual inuendo and physical touch it will just creep them out. The point to meeting people is to meet them. Let them decide if they want to interact with you. If they don't - move on.

What you don't do is shame other people asking for help without writing your response directly to them then offer them no solid actions on how to help. I hope "Black Tall" didn't see your blog. It was just pumping your own ego off the back of someone who was vulnerable and had legitimate questions.
