I see people asking questions around here "How should I tell her...Shouldn't I tell her...". It's usually about them having feelings for the girl, finding her cute, etc.

What's odd is these men seem to feel some sort of social obligation to tell the girl something. Like they have to, or at least should, tell this girl what they think of her.

Let me make something clear: You are under no obligation to tell anyone how you feel about them. Just because something is true doesn't mean you have to say it out loud.

Do you walk around announcing what time it is every minute? Do you immediately tell every person you meet what you think of their clothes, hair, face and mannerisms? Do you announce how your breakfast went and your plans for dinner every lunch? NO! Because you have what is called a filter.

For some reason, men's filters get all fucked up when it comes to women. They feel like they have to tell them everything.

There is also absolutely nothing inherently deceitful, secretive or manipulative about not telling a woman how you feel about her. It's fine. There's also nothing really wrong with it, if you feel it's the right course of action. Just don't blurt it out because you feel like you should.

In my opinion: Talking about feelings is for relationships, not initial dating. I haven't told a girl I'm romantically interested in her in years. That's what first kisses are for. Take a piece of advice from every Writing 101 class. Show, don't tell.
