For a long time, I've avoided cold approaching because I'm always scared of running out of things to say and looking like an idiot.

Little bit of backstory, I'm a university student. Bit on the average side looks-wise but my beard helps a lot in that regard.

On Wednesday for some reason I just thought "You know what? Fuck it" and decided I was going to approach the first girl I found attractive... I did not approach the first girl I found attractive. "Maybe the next girl"... I did not approach the next girl. This went on and on until I was ready to give up and "return to base". I didn't bhelp that my friends we're getting tired of walking. Just as we were getting back to out apartment, I decided I wasn't going to go back till I at least spoke to someone of the opposite sex. Friends started whining a little but I just shut them out.

Little bit down the road and this absolute stunner was headed in our direction. The boys started psyching me up to talk to her and I talked to her. I just kinda said hi, made some small talk, joked a bit and then asked for her number. She asked what I needed her number for and I kinda choked a bit but I recovered and made a joke about giving it to Boris Johnson (don't ask). She laughed and gave me her number. You know what's greater than getting a cute girls number? the praise from your friends when you do.

Still riding this high, I decided to get at least one more number. Saw these two girls walking down the road and decided to talk to them. When I got closer I saw one of them was on a call so I just spoke to the other one. Same process- hi, small talk, joke , number- and it worked.

I couldn't believe it. Since the semester started I'd been trying to get into cold approaching but I always flaked out. It's was too easy. I decided to try and get one more number. Surely it couldn't have been that easy, right? It is that easy. Actually got two more numbers andy friends couldn't have been prouder.

All I'm trying to say is just talk to someone. Chances are they're the same as you. Yeah and getting her number doesn't guarantee anything. Texting is a whole other ballgame. Of the 4 numbers I got, I only talk to two of them.
