Today I was rejected by a girl I've had my eyes on for weeks. I've been rejected by countless women; cheesy pickup lines, genuinely creepy moments, and boyfriends are all to blame. However, this one hurt a bit because it had buildup- it wasn't a "we just met and I got shot down" thing, I've been talking to her for weeks. So it makes sense that it'd hurt more, I mean.. I feel like I should have been able to tell if she was into me or not.

The point I'm trying to make here is that even if youve gotten shot down as much as I have, rejection still hurts. It can cause you to doubt yourself and if she does it in a truncating manner, it can sour the friendship you guys had. Rejection isn't pretty, but that's the point of rejection.

You know that pain you feel? I feel it too, man. Its part of finding the right person. It teaches you things- important things like not being naive, like guarding your heart, like fixing little things about yourself. It teaches you to stop caring about rejection, and take the risk.

If I hadn't been rejected so many times, I wouldn't have risked this one. But I did, and I'm glad. Being rejected builds up your tolerance. It built up mine, and made me realize- if I don't make a move, she'll friendzone me and I'll be stuck there, my mind focused on her and what could have been. Now that she took that doubt out, I can focus on what's important: me, and finding someone that'll complement me.

I didn't mean to make a sermon, sorry about that! Just keep in mind, guys... rejection is good. Don't be afraid to make your move, you'll either succeed or fail. But don't be doubting yourself like that friendzoned dude we all know. Nobody wants to be that guy.
