How do I get past this minor resistance?

Is not "minor" is MAJOR resistance. If they don't speak the same language as you, there is no way to continue, there is no way to joke or be playful... nothing. I was in Ukraine and I know exactly what I say I even filmed some of my interaction and this is how it looks when they don't speak english - VIDEO. In another day I tried to make a joke but it took them a few seconds to get the joke - VIDEO, you can't do too much. Translating with an online translator is a solution but not to "seduce" her.

I find out where they are from, and then use Google translate on the spot. If she's receptive, she'll stay.
