Had a great first date with a girl (25y) about two months ago (I’m 28 (M) . Real chemistry, we kissed, got intimate, and she even invited me over but I was too tired to go. After that we kept talking for weeks, but every time I suggested a second date she avoided it. She had just come out of a 7-year relationship, works two jobs, and is doing a master’s degree, so her life is very full. She’s also very inexperienced with dating by her sayings)
At some point she stopped replying. After a week of silence, I sent her a message about my feelings an that I want to see her again and she replied saying she couldn’t continue and admitted she hadn’t handled things well. I answered calmly and respectfully , I’ve said that I understood and I respect her saying .
Recently, by pure coincidence, we ran into each other at the same place we first met. She came to talk to me, thought I was mad at her because I didn’t notice her first while I was ordering drinks for my friends group at the bar . She brought up the ghosting herself, and seemed relieved when I told her I’m not the type to get angry or demand explanations. The vibe was warm made a compliment that she’s looking refreshed , asked about some things that I was remember she had going on . I told her I still like her and would like to see her again, then left.
It’s been a week since. I’m not obsessing, I’m seeing other people, but when I’m alone my mind goes back to her and the “unfinished” feeling of this story.
Has anyone experienced something like this where timing — not lack of interest — seemed to be the issue? Did it ever reconnect later, or is this just my mind holding onto a possibility?
