First I'd like to thank everyone in this sub as I would be nothing without your ideas and your discussions. <3
Before I started my journey I was the classic nice smart ultra-rational (I'm a web developer, one of the closest things to a computer in nature) guy and my conversations with women were always flat and boring.
Before: "I work in a bar. | Ah cool, must be tiring! | Yea, kind of... what about you? | I'm a web developer, you know, website and all that stuff. | Ah cool... (Silence)".
After: "I work in a bar. | Ahhh, I knew you were up to alcoholism! | [random jokes]... what about you? | I train bomb-detecting dolphins used for military purposes in the Baltic sea [fill the story with details about the scholarship and your trip to Denmark for the starter course].
That's a line from How I Met Your Mother.
Honest to God I had this conversation, a bit over the top but yet effective. That's actually the funniest approach I've ever tried and I got an F close a week later. If you create stuff like this, 3 things can happen:
- She doesn't believe you, move on as you don't care and indirectly leave a spark of mystery around your character.
- She doesn't believe you, but clearly enjoys the story and support the development of itself by asking questions and adding details. Creates intimacy and connection, even if it started from a stupid thing you said.
- She believes you. That's the funnier, you can do literally what you want, have fun.
No more fear of what to say to a woman, create something in your head and act like you're totally into it.
It's like improv in real life, everyone is an actor but they just don't know it.
It might be not the best way to approach girls, but I guarantee it's the funnier!
Create, we're Artists!
