You should definitely ask him about it, try to avoid being confrontational just say you were curious. I know that I am frequently on my phone but very infrequently respond to casual texts from those in intrested in. Like myself he may use text for setting up dates and try to focus on getting to know someone when in person.

You say you feel less inclined to conversate and don’t know what to talk about if you didn’t talk a lot between dates. Tbh from a males perspective I try and limit interaction between dates for that exact reason, If we text a lot in between then when it’s time for the date what’s even left to talk about. Let some things happen in your life so you have stories and lots of things to talk about on the date

As long as you're still seeing him and having fun on dates, I see no problem here.

You're supposed to be romantic interests, not pen pals.
