Maybe it is because flirting tends to have a 'messing with people' component to it; ..for each known 'dating rule', there seems to be some person out there thriving, by breaking that very rule.

So if you ever heard the phrase "you need to learn the rule in order to learn how to break it" this is game in a nutshell. Once you understand and can expertly apply things you can break the rules that you set out for yourself.

There are no 'dating rules'. Everyone has other preferences and behaviours, so just be yourself and the right people will stay.

You need to have your own rules and you need to follow them and never break them unless you want to, but best not to. Some of my rules are if an interaction with a woman is not positive, I turn my back and walk away. If a woman starts giving me a hard time or becomes demanding and bossy, I turn around and walk away. Treat me well and I will treat you better. Treat me bad and I will treat you worse.
