For starters, you can isolate the girl. This way you will never give the other guy a chance to intervene during your set. You basically want to lead the girl to a situation that is favorable to you. Now, if the guy actually does interrupt your set, the best advice would be to be proactive. If you notice him walking up introduce yourself to him. Make him part of the conversation, and now work the girl while working him. Again, try to isolate the girl while you are working both of them.

Any battle between you and him is purely mental. Don't let it be a fight for the girl, that's approval-seeking and beta.

For starters relax, only the girl knows who she likes more. If you look for reasons why the other dude is more attractive than you, you will see them, so just do you best not to think that way. You will see what you think, so think you're just as good as him, even if he's better than you at 'game'.

Also, I don't think you should be trying to shut him out. Because if he wants to interact with her he's going to anyways; you don't really need to worry about something you can't control.

My best advice to you is to have faith in yourself, and to be yourself. Sounds corny I know, but who knows, maybe you'll be surprised.

Yeah. Don't try to "shut them out" or you'll screw your own game. Better to try to be the better guy; becoming his cheerleader and leading the conversation that way is better than trying to fight him, which only makes you seem like an ass.

You are two different people and if a girl is attracted to you, it will be a slightly different "market demographic" so to speak. So it's also a waste of time trying to "shut him out."
