Hey guys. I'm not here to write about a success of mine or to repeat the same advice everyone dishes out here. I want to share with you guys my most recent failure. Hopefully by sharing my failure with all of you, I can convince you guys to get out there to be the men you all so very deserve to be.

My life these past few months have been swamped with assignments, projects, reports, and never-ending deadlines. What's worse is that I'm a STEM major, so interaction with females is already at an all time low. I haven't gotten out. I haven't practiced. I've become rusty. I've forgotten everything that I embedded into my mind months ago. I can't even begin to describe how frustrating and upsetting it is to admit this.

I got lost in my workload and forgot about the most important thing, myself. So how does this tie into what this post was intentionally about?

I just got back from another late night at the computer lab. I was finishing another report with a teammate when I noticed a particularly cute girl sitting a few tables away. This is a girl I've seen every now and then around school. We would occasionally lock eyes in the hallways and smile at each other, but that was it. This girl was actually very attractive for being at the engineering college, so I was surprised.

And here I am, in a computer lab late at night with practically no one around. There is a gorgeous girl sitting just down the way. All I have to do is get up, sit next to her, and say hi. Circumstances could. not. have. been. better.

I turn off my computer, turn in my tag, and start walking in her direction. I get to her table. She's just right there, alone, buried in her work just like any other STEM major. This would be a cinch if I was who I was a few months ago. Instead, I start to overfill on anxiety, rehearse bullshit conversations in my mind, shake, tremble, make excuses, and continue walking past her.

I didn't want to. I really, really didn't want to. Everything inside of me was yelling at me to go back. "Do it! You'll regret it if you don't! You'll always live in fear if you don't do this!" I tried really hard to overcome my anxiety. I went in the bathroom, washed my face, smiled at myself in the mirror, and tried to convince myself that I was good enough to do this. I went back to the computer lab and fucking walked around the entire perimeter before pussing out and going home.

I dismissed everything I learned. The 3-second rule, gone. Confidence, gone. Regret, full force. Approach anxiety, full force.

I told myself that I would regret not approaching her, and I wholeheartedly do. I'm so disappointed and upset with myself. The worst part is knowing that if I would have just sacked up and went in for the approach, I would have definitely gotten a date out of it, and who knows how much more. Now I'll never know how much more I could have gotten, because I never tried. There was no closure. This particular scene will sit in my head and play over and over all the possibilities that could have happened. Worst case scenario was I get rejected. That would have been AWESOME! No scenes would be replaying in my head, there would be no regrets, just closure.

I'm mostly upset that I lost most of what was taught to me from this subreddit. Please, please, please don't forget to continue to practice guys. Aside from keeping up with a daily workout routine and changing my hairstyle, I did nothing to improve my interaction skills. I never went out anymore and would instead stay in from being so burnt out from the week. That's not an excuse, not anymore.

If you've read this far, thank you for listening to my spiel. I know this post doesn't offer much in terms of learning seduction or preaching it, but it still feels good to have written this out and get it off my chest. I hope it'll show you guys the effect regret has. If you guys want to tear me a new one and offer advice and/or critique, please do so, I need it.
