It is a fact about human nature that when we want something from somebody we are likely to become a doormat for them and do whatever they ask of us. It is hard to resist this impulse so you need to have a list of rules that you stick to religiously, no matter what.

The following is a partial list of my rules. They all stem from a common principle, which is that you should never do anything for a woman unless she has done something equivalent for you FIRST. You can also state the rule as “don’t do anything for a woman who would not do the same thing for you.”

Of course, you can violate any of these rules and do things for women if her health and well being is genuinely at stake (for example, she needs a ride to the hospital or she needs help because she is throwing up, etc…).

Please note that these are just my rules, and you may choose to do things differently.

Please also let me know if there are other rules I should add to this list.

Waiting for her

If you are planning on meeting a woman somewhere at a certain time, don’t wait for her for longer than 20 minutes if she is late. Leave and go do something else. If she shows up late and still wants to hang out with you, she can come to wherever you are. Don’t scold her for being late; just act like something else excited you.

Don’t wait for a woman if she has “settled into” talking to somebody else. If you are out with a woman other guys or girls may come up to her and try to talk to her, and she may want to say something to them to be polite. But if it is clear she has “settled into” talking to them and plans on continuing to talk them and you are not a part of the conversation, you should leave. You need to exercise your emotional intelligence to determine whether she has settled in or not. If she asks why you were leaving you can just say “I wanted to go do something else” or “I didn’t want to interrupt your conversation” in a non-butthurt way. In any event don’t wait for a woman for more than 5 minutes in any case, whether or not she has settled into the conversation.

Don’t wait for a woman for longer than 30 minutes in any other context (waiting for her to get dressed, etc…) unless she has already done the same for you.

Payment.

Don’t buy anything, including a drink, for a woman you just met at a bar or a party. Ever. If she asks you to buy her something, smile and say “you’re funny” and buy yourself a drink.

If a woman comes to meet you on a date, you can buy her the first drink. You can also offer to pay for the second round, but if she doesn’t offer to pay on round 2 she is probably not interested in you. If you have bought 2 rounds of drinks and she has not paid, don’t offer to buy any more.

Don’t ever, ever, ever bail a woman out or pay for something you weren’t expecting to pay for. If her car gets towed and the only way you can continue the date is if you pay the tow truck, just go home. It's better to play video games alone than to pay for her tow truck and then get sex from her.

Don't ever, ever do anything that could possibly be construed as you giving her money for sex. If she says something like "If you buy me a ticket to the concert, I can make it worth your while afterwards" just look at her and say "no." Sex is something you give her, not something she gives you.

If a date or something requires a cover charge or a ticket, you can cover it up to $20. Anything more needs her to reimburse you.

Errands

If you are at a party or other social event don’t budge from where you are to do something for a woman unless she has done the same for you first.

You should make clear to any woman you are with that you are not going to babysit her if she gets too drunk, high, etc… If she does get into that state and you are the only person that can take care of her, take her home as fast as possible and come back out to continue enjoying your night. If there is somebody else there to take care of her, don’t volunteer to help.

Don't ever do anything for a woman out of a sense of "chivalry" just because she is a woman. You do things for her because she does things for you. Period. Chivalry is a prize you give to women who deserve it, not an entitlement person gets just for having a vagina.

Texting a woman

Don’t text a woman more than twice to no response.

Don’t ask a woman out more than twice. If she says “no” two times without offering an alternative date/time, stop asking her out.

Don’t have text conversations with women who will not meet you in person.

Generally speaking, you should text her about 2/3 of how much she texts you.

Conversation

Don’t ever let a woman talk to you for more than 3 minutes about one of her exes or another guy she is interested in or fucking. Smile, nod, and change the subject. If she insists on talking about the other guy, say “I don’t really give a fuck about the other guy.” Feel free to end a date if she continues to talk about other guys.

Don’t let a woman talk to you about some deep or painful thing in her life if she has done nothing to deserve it and would not do the same for you. You are not her therapist.

Don’t listen to a woman drone on about a subject you find boring for more than a few minutes without changing the subject unless she has already listened to you drone on about a boring subject. The only exception is for subjects that are deeply personal and painful for her, and she has done something to deserve it.

Don’t engage with a woman about any subject where she is clearly being unreasonable or melodramatic. For example, if she wants to spend 10 minutes complaining about why a homeless guy called her fat, feel free to change the subject.

Don’t indulge a woman if she is asking for pity or attention for a situation she will not explain. If she just says “I’m really upset right now” but won’t tell you why she is upset, you have no obligations to her about that upset-ness.

Dates

Feel free to end any date with a woman if she does any of the following: 1) says or does something irredeemably disrespectful to you, 2) brings anybody else to the date, 3) shows an obvious lack of interest in you (for example, stares at her phone the whole time), 4) let’s anybody else take the lead on the date, 5) ignores you for any reason for more than 10 minutes, or 6) is unfixably sad/moody/weird, etc...

Feel free to tell her to knock it off if she is doing any of the following: 1) being rude to the staff, 2) being rude to third parties, 3) causing any kind of scene or drawing any kind of unwanted attention, 4) repeatedly starting conversations with random people. If she does not knock it off, feel free to leave the date.

Third Parties

Don’t ever let a woman invite anybody to your car or your house or to come along with you to do anything without asking you first.

Don’t ever let a woman antagonize third parties or sign you up for a fight without your consent. Some women like to be nasty to other people, expecting the man to fight for them. Don’t be that guy. If she tries this, apologize to the person she was rude to and tell her "if you do that again, I am leaving you here."

Feel free to leave a situation if a woman’s friend is being irredeemably disrespectful to you and she refuses to leave her friend.

Shaming

Never let a woman shame you for the following things:

- Your political, religious, or philosophical beliefs.

- Your car, your house, your job, or any other material/status things

- The fact that you chose to not spend money on something.

By “don’t let a woman shame you” I don’t mean that you should argue with her, but that you should not feel the need to defend yourself. Just look at her in the eye and say "ok" when she says that stuff.

You can also feel free to express your sexuality. If you do the following things and a woman complains, that is her problem, not yours:

- Calling her hot (once)

- Telling her you want to fuck her (once)

- Making a dirty/off-color joke (once)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing each of these things once, no matter who she is and what your relationship is. If, however, you do these things more than once after she has made clear she is not interested, then she has a point and you should stop and maybe apologize depending on how rude you were.

Playing Music

If a woman is riding in your car or in your house, she cannot monopolize the stereo. If she expects you to only play the songs she wants to hear, that is a no-no.

Any woman loses all music requesting privileges if she changes one of your songs mid-song.

A woman loses all song requesting privileges if she is clearly playing stupid shit that is killing the vibe and annoying everybody else.
