My life is going good, not great by any means, but good. I have great friends, I love my hobbies, have a great part time job and do okay in college, I feel pretty fulfilled except I'm terrible with girls. I want to talk to girls, but I just don't see the point because I'm pretty terrified of not rejection, but my reputation.... There's alot of horror stories out there about creepy guys and I am absolutely terrified about being "that guy." I always see it here in this sub, how you should always be careful about not ruining your reputation and that shit is the scariest thing to read for me, so much so that I have gotten it in my head that I don't need girls in my life. Another problem I have with approaching girls is that I also constantly read that cold approaches never result in anything and that meeting girls organically is way better, which I agree with so much. These thoughts contantly stunt my growth in this aspect of my life.

My question is how to change this mentality? I would love to be more social and outgoing and actually approach but my fear for people's perception of me and the bullshit I tell myself are always in the way. I always look at my past and cringe at the slightest small mistake or error that made me look like a fool. Any feedback would be appreciated!
