Nope. Always be the proactive one. Don't leave the ball in her court, even if she wants and intends to call you, people don't always follow through.

There should be absolutely no question whether she is into you before you even talk about day2 or numbers.

Bullcrap for anyone who doesn't have VERY tight game. People get more and better responses taking #s than not.

And you can do those 3 things you list WHILE taking a #. :) I'm not saying it doens't work for you, but it may not be appropriate for most readers here. I knew a guy who would setup dates without exchanging ANY info and it worked for him but doesn't mean I'd recommend it to anyone else.

The closest I come is that only with the hired guns (like store employees) who have customers, employees, or bosses around, I give them a business card that is identity specific to me that also leads to a website with a DHV story in the about page. Exception is waitresses and bartenders, since they can just write their # on your receipt.

The girls who call you back, are extremely interested in you, sure. But you're missing out on all the shy girls, all the girls who simply believe the 'rules' and don't call guys first, all the girls who are on the fence, all the girls who are scared of calling strangers, all the girls who later get drunk and can't remember this extra number in their phone, all the busy girls who mean to call you but lose track of time etc. etc.

Any situation where you haven't built enough rapport to basically seal the deal, you lose.

Calling strangers is scary for most people. Putting yourself out there and saying you like someone enough to take action is a vulnerable place to be. Putting the onus of action on the girl is inherently cowardly. Having clear intentions, and risking rejection, gives her a position of power. But it's sexy precisely because of that risk. The way gender norms work, the guy chases. This flips that script. And so now you're appealing to girls who want to chase, and you're being interested in girls who want to chase.

Just from personal experience and preference, I'm super heteronormative. If a girl approaches me, she loses value. Any girl who called me after I slipped her my number, would seem desperate and my interest would plummet. Why is she calling me? Why isn't her phone ringing off the hook?

That's true. But this implies giving a girl your number is somehow ambiguous in terms of intention. That's ludicrous. You gave her your phone number, she knows you want her to call. I can't imagine you doing in this in a way were you haven't sexualized the interaction, and if you have managed to get her your number without her realizing, oh this guy is trying to seduce me, then when she calls, you run the risk of her thinking, "oh we are just friends."

I can't imagine the scenario where you end up with more dates giving out the number, sans asking for hers, unless you're saying, "Here put my number in your phone, and text me so I have yours."
