Never had a girlfriend. Need help

This won't help, and I'm in your situation in college, but from what I remember from early highschool was that relationships were mostly transient and that the people in those relationships mostly cared about showing off. Highschool (at least from what I remember) is allot about making your own image, being popular, etc... And being in a relationship really epitomizes the image of the popular guy/girl.

Some people may be more comfortable in college when it comes to getting a girlfriend. More people, more clubs, more variety... Though for others like myself it can be significantly more difficult as you need to make an extra effort.

I hope someone else can help you with this on this post.

Social skills are a learned skill, and just like any other learned skill you must practice it to master it. While the following advice may be unpopular with those who believe the "friendzone" is the root of all evil, I think at your age it is a very important to learn how to simply become comfortable talking to the opposite sex.

Begin with being friendly with girls, if you can (as in you don't have assigned seats in class) simply start with sitting next to some of the more attractive girls in class. Make light conversation, introduce yourself, ask how they are doing and move on from there. If there is some hard assignment in your class that you truly do have trouble with (i.e don't ask for help if you actually don't need it), ask for their help or advice. Ask if you can study with them if they are friendly to you.

What I don't think you should do is go for a girl sexually right away if you aren't comfortable talking with them in general. Again, as a learned skill, the more girls you start talking to, the more confident you will become when interacting with them. Then once you have this confidence, then you may start to advance in a sexual manner with someone you are interested in.

At your age (I'm 21, not much older than you, but I started talking to girls at your age, and was absolutely terrified), it is important to build your confidence now, before you enter college where people are just then starting to find themselves through internal confidence. Internal confidence is sexy, and girls are drawn to it, because in both men and women, it is a rare trait. So start building it now, not tomorrow or the next day, but now.

One more thing, and I know you have probably heard it countless times from friends and family, but NEVER sell yourself short. You are not average, and you are certainly not below average, the fact that you are reaching out for help, is already a wonderful attribute that you have, that the vast majority of people do not have.

One of the best pieces of advice I have ever received, was from my uncle when he said, "no one is better at being you than you. Someone might be smarter, they might be more charming, or they might be better looking, but I guarantee you, you are better than them at something else. You will always be better at SOMETHING, than anyone." Say that to yourself in the mirror, remind yourself everyday, that you are the fucking man, and while staying grounded, believe that you will be and are a confident human being, and that you bring a unique value to anyone you may talk to and that is you.

Stop worrying about being a 16 year old guy with no girlfriend. Work on becoming the 21 year old guy who has lots of girlfriends. You do this by interacting with women a lot, and developing your confidence by getting some practice.
