Never seem to get a second date..

This is like my 6th date with a girl after breaking up with my girlfriend and not a single time did I get a second date... Sometimes they texted with me afterwards (where they texted first) but not up to meeting again.

I don't know if the issue is my looks or personality but I came to think if my looks weren't bad they would give me a 2nd date and your personality wouldn't matter as much...

To be honest most of them went well, a few awkward pauses but the convo kept going and it was not really dead just a little superficial(talking about study, job, etc.)

I am atm really down, was supposed to go with this girl to the bars and then she would come over but after one hour she tells me the chemistry is just not right and we go home...

Any tips/similar experience? I honestly am thinking about just quitting and focusing on other things and leaving dating alone since it feels like I simply get nowhere

It's your skills, not your looks. She already knows what you look like (unless you're catfishing on the Internet!).

Maybe try activity dates where there's something going on? Helps the conversation flow more easily, and gives you excuses to touch / flirt more easily.

Don't ever ask if she finds you attractive - you figure it out by escalating a tiny bit (maybe a small touch, ask a personal question, look her in the eyes, lean close, hug, whatever) and see how she reacts. If she reacts well, good sign, keep at it! If not, then pull back a bit and try again later.

I think you're giving off a thirsty/needy vibe. Girls don't "give" you another date - you invite them to hang out again if you both like each other.

So practically - try activity dates where there's something going on. Don't try to escalate via talking or ask how you're doing, escalate by touching, telling jokes, sharing personal stuff, etc. Maybe instead of asking for another date, do activity 1, then ask her if she'd like to get something to eat when it finishes. Boom, insta date #2.

Escalate a little bit and often.

Sounds like girls are attracted to you, but your own self confidence issues are getting in the way.
