It's not a major problem, as soon as I have approached I'm super confident, its just that I feel weird being direct with a stranger. I'm only 15 & from the UK. The way I've known how to create relationships is to be subtle - so being direct feels taboo, although I can do it to some extent, the escalation still feels awkward. I've been lurking here for a few days & I've really learnt a lot, although today was my first time out the house.

I went to Nando's with Mom & Dad (Mom's birthday) & a friend. After the dinner I went to get trainers and mother & father went elsewhere. Me and my friend were alone & were free to do as we please. I saw 2 girls walking the opposite direction as us and I was going to go up to them.. however I used the 'they're not that good looking' excuse - which they weren't, but it shouldn't have stopped me.

I don't get approach anxiety in the way most people describe it. I don't experience shaking, feeling cold, sweating etc. Or any other physical symptoms for that matter, I just simply feel nervous (only on a mental scale though).

I guess I feel awkward more than anything, its mainly being so direct & kino - however when I DO approach next (which I will make sure is very soon - I'm going to work tomorrow so I'll make it a priority whilst I'm out) I'll be sure to throw it all in early to clear the elephant in the room.

One thing I did do though was go up and correct my order, which I didn't feel like was necessary however I did it anyways for an extra social encounter.

It's the small victories & the regrets that will lead me to the larger victories, I guess.

Any help with the feeling of awkwardness from direct approach and kino (as opposed to nervousness)?
