Try practicing kino with a girl you're not interested. You'll be more comfortable and also you can see the girl's reactions and know how to scale properly.

But when I move dialogue towards escalation it gets brushed aside.

What do you mean by escalating by dialog? You have to escalate physically.

As far as kino, been going to clubs / shows, so it's loud. I'll kind of put my face against a girl's and talk into her ear.

But it never feels like I get to a point to where it would happen naturally.

Does a girl ever says something funny? Cute? Sweet? "stupid"? Those are the moments when you say: come here, you are so cute!" while at the same time pulling her in for a big bear hug,while you are smiling your assignment off because she has said some so damn adorable. That is natural escalation.

Not exactly sure how to get past this barrier. I think once I can get to a point to escalate, things will start to pick up a little bit. I'll take any tips, thanks guys!

It's pretty easy. First, get out of your head. Second, react with touch to her statements. If she says something you like, you rub her back, hug her or whatever you feel like. If she says something you don't like, you don't touch her. When you want to make a point in a conversation, you touch her on her upper arm, thigh(if you sit next to her) or whatever fits the situation. With a little bit of experience you will get the feeling really quickly what is natural and what is not.
