If you're like me and suffer from nice guy syndrome, read this post.
I am a nice guy. It comes off in everything I do. In my business I often get reviews saying I was "nice" and "sweet". When I get rejected, it is always the line "You're a nice guy, but...". I cringe when I hear that.
Sure, I've read No More Mr Nice Guy, which I do recommend. But I would say that being a nice guy isn't necessarily bad, and can be used to your advantage when doing pickup.
I like to game with non nice guys and something I've noticed is that less direct game most of the time wins the day. Instead of walking up to a girl and saying "You're pretty" I would recommend walking up to a girl and saying "Hey, I know this may sound strange, but you're really pretty" or "Hey, I know we just met but you're very pretty." In my experience the less direct game comes off as sweet and genuine.
I always lavish with a compliment, sometimes multiple compliments. They are all true though, and I do it in order to gain reference material. For example, if I say that Julia who goes to Harvard is beautiful, I will text her "It's the beautiful Julia! How is Harvard? -Heretogetbetter". This syncs what I said in the conversation to how I text her.
Texting is too toxic for my liking, and nice guy syndrome does not mix well with text game. I used to text girls good morning and good night thinking it would come off that I was thinking about them and that was a good thing. Don't do this. Only text logistics and keep the banter at a minimum. A girl will forgive you for not being in contact for a few days, she will not forgive you for blowing up her phone.
Finally, being nice is different than asking for permission. Asking for permission is beta and lame. This includes asking permission to hold her hand or kiss her or go on a second date. Same with apologizing. Minimize this activity. Being a nice guy is not the same as being a beta buck.
