The trouble with Instagram and similar sites is that you're lumped in with every other thirsty chode who is a "follower" rather than a potential lover.

Also if your instagram is shite, it's a big turn off for girls and you can be screened out on that basis alone.

So always go for the number! If she asks why you don't have Insta, say the truth : I prefer to live in the real world and I think Insta brings out the worst in us (or words to that effect).

It really depends on the woman. Some women really want to exchange insta because

They gain an extra follower.
By getting your insta they can get a quick glance at your social status / online clout.

Others don't care. If you want to maximize your chances with women, having a well managed insta will help. But it's not a requirement. It also depends on what type of woman you want to date. Someone who cares about social media or someone who doesn't.
