The other day my friend told me about when she worked at a day care and would have to rip band aids off their arm. When she would count for them "one... two.. three!" she would always pull on one or two because you're calm and relaxed on one or two, not on three. On three you tense up.

So I thought that was a really cool concept especially when I realized that I could use that when approaching. Sometimes when I am getting approach anxiety I say, "Okay... okay.... go!" and get really tensed up and then start talking to them. Yesterday I tried telling myself "One.... two...." and just gradually went up to her. I don't really remember getting to three or even thinking three. All I remember is calmly walking up with a really chill and relaxed vibe.

If I have to walk a long way to reach a girl I will probably be like "one.... two... two and a quarter... two and a... hey who are you?"

This concept is just for warming up or just breaking through that first approach. That's always the hardest for me. If you're warmed up and feeling good you shouldn't even have time to count to one.
