I had this situation last night that has me thinking about what I could've done and what was "suppose" to be done.

I'm on vacation with a good friend And some of his buddies from college. Me and this girl are rooming together but we have separate beds, compared to the other 6 people in the house who are all sharing rooms with another girl. I had a suspicion that she wanted to expand on our brief drunk convos throughout the night so I was planning to try and talk with her before bed. I had some signs throughout the night that led me to believe something could happen.

I got into the room after she went in and the light was on, we made just a quick dialog and I, for some dumb reason, turned off the light to head to bed. I keep thinking I should've left it on to talk more. Later I told her goodnight and went on my way, feeling horribly depressed on not making an attempt to at least get to know this person more. Laying there I could hear her restless so I made a small comment to try and at least salvage what I could. Obviously it was too late and nothing happened but I keep thinking I could've done something else to help the situation or at least try to move on and make the right decision the next time. But then i ask what is the right decision? What if tonight the same scenario occurs, how will I know what to do?

I don't want to just ask if we can get closer at night and make it awkward if she says "no" or her friends knowing I asked and thinking I'm weird. The beds are far apart so I can't just go and attempt to cuddle, my mind is a mess at what to do but I keep telling myself just forget about it. If I forget about it I won't improve for the next time. Am I taking a bad perspective at this by thinking there's something there when there's not? Is there any advice I could use for the day that'll help my nighttime dilemma? Thanks reddit
