A lot of this may be common sense to some people here but I've decided to post what has worked for me. Hopefully it will help some others out.

INTRODUCTION: I have decided to write a field report about what I have learnt from the last 3 times I have been out. During these 3 nights out, I made out for long periods with 6 different girls and spent the night with 2 of them. I'm not claiming that these numbers are anything special but personally I have never felt so confident when approaching a girl in a nightclub setting. I'd like to point out that this wasn't a numbers game of approaching as many girls as possible.

What I learnt:

  • Walk around confidently like you own the place.
  • When a girl you're attracted to makes direct eye contact with you, checks you out, smiles at you or shows any sign which makes you feel that she could be interested in you... approach her. Chances are she is either interested in you or semi-interested in you.
  • Approach immediately, be direct, don't pause for a few seconds to try and psych yourself up to approach. This can be easier said than done, the more success you have the more confident and easy this will become.
  • Look her in the eyes, confidently smile and ask her what her name is.
  • Although this is didn't happen during these 3 nights out for me. If the girl is acting slightly awkward and standoffish, she is either shy or disinterested. Move on, it's fine.
  • Physical contact. Touch her. If it feels natural go for it. Softly hold her upper arms when whispering in her ear. Hold her hips when things start to escalate. Put your arm around her. Etc.
  • Kiss her when it feels natural to do so. Things have usually escalated by this stage from flirting and physical contact.
  • Find a private spot away from her friends. Carry things on. Get to know her, flirt, kiss, touch... keep things escalating. I found this to be the easy part.
  • Ask her if she wants to go back. A lot of girls need to be convinced, they don't like the idea of hooking up with a stranger they have just met. If she doesn't seem like she will change her mind, decide whether it is really that important for you to go home with someone. If yes, move on. If no, enjoy your night.

These tips worked very well for me with a very high success rate when approaching a girl. I have learnt that it is a lot easier to approach and be successful with a girl who you know is interested in you. I think it's also very important to be direct and to show your interest.

I'd like to point out that I'm at university, some people say this is an easier setting for hooking up with girls. I'm nothing special but fairly good looking. Fairly tall, athletic, a lot of people would describe me as skinny. I'm naturally shy too, not the extroverted type. I make sure I look good and smell good before going out.
