Polarization & Rejection

Just so everyone knows, Mark Manson's idea, I'm just writing this to help me understand it better and maybe help some people out there.

To start off, I don't really care if you like Manson's "strategy" or not, do whatever strategy you want, if you still think asking girls for their opinions on cologne works, if that really resonates with who you are, by all means!

As far as I'm concerned, for any man who wants to meet women in large amounts needs to internalize this concept. As soon as I read about this a couple years ago - not from Mark, but from someone else - but Mark reviewed it very well, it was a game changer.

Essentially, you have three categories of women: unreceptive, neutral, and receptive (initiating and reciprocating). Your job is to find which ones are already receptive or which ones are neutral whom you can make receptive by polarizing the interaction.

How do you "polarize"?

You bring in whatever "game" works best for you, and you effectively do two things:

Express your intent
Escalate the interaction

For example, my "game" is usually smoother and more natural, focused on building a connection and letting that carry the interaction along with some sexual undertones created from a few different things during the course of the interaction, mostly nonverbal. Sex is a natural byproduct of this process which focuses on leading a girl up to that point.

Some less abstract examples of polarizing in cold approach:

Stating your genuine interest in her while you meet her
Touching a girl
Moving a girl to get to know who she is and making a connection
Setting up a date and getting a girls number

I'm mentioning rejection in none of this because this is basically your screening tool - polarizing the interaction and if she is unreceptive or goes unreceptive from neutral, then it's not worth the emotions or time or work anymore, seriously.

Yeah of course, I would say there are 4 categories, the ones that will engage in a conversation (usually happens when you have a common friend) and it happens quite frequently, the open ones, the neutral and the non-receptive as you mentioned. But what happens with a girl who engages in a conversation with you? 99/100 boys would have a shitload of questions like, is she playing with me?, is she single, who is that girl (especially if you are in a club and you see her after dancing with her friends :) ). But yeah you can sum the up in receptive ones.

As for the first interaction, you start mentioning categories and that leads our minds to unknown girls (let's say we judge them from their body language). When you first talk to a girl and you wanna go for the one-shot, it is wrong to introduce yourself and your intentions with such a large sentence, let alone touching her hand. Touching her shows that you get in love just way too easy, or that you are just a friend (known girls). What could be done, is to show intense emotions and energy in a small phrase. (Hey... you are beautiful .) Low tonality, pauses etc... Let her answer "Thank you" and then judging from her expressions, "What's your name?" .... But again there are so many parameters ... the way you approach her, your posture, your movement, if you stand in front of her or you come aside. Finally if you go for the "one-shot", it is impossible to know the girl before you pass some mini tests (the "game"). She just won't let you find who she really is, you can't flirt, "game" and be romantic at the same time. And that's a common trap where someone says "another b*tch" So I'm afraid polarization example's are abstract and are used in essence for a taste of the inner game rather than their practical use.

But again it's a really nice work for intermediate level players. Just with a different title and purpose.

I see receptive in two categories, they're either initiating, or they're reciprocating your investment. The former being comparably rarer than the latter, I don't really rely on that.

As for the interaction, that's just my style, it works for me and it's natural for me. Do what works for you. :)

Sample:

See a cute girl in the grocery store, long, natural blonde hair, skinny, count to ten, I bitch out, see her again, I bitch out. I set a time limit of 20 minutes to talk to someone who was a girl and also pretty before I got out of my car before I went in, so I casually walk to my car, then she starts putting groceries in hers, close to mine.

So I BS to wait, and accidentally set off my car alarm, holy shit that was awkward, but I laugh it off and despite everything as soon as she gets in I walk over and say "Hi, I saw you earlier and had to say before we both left that you look utterly elegant, I'm Alex." - it was a ride of nerves, but easier than I remember two years ago. My timer that I set actually starts going off while I'm beginning to rapport build - funny coincidence.

Anyways, after some quick rapport building and after she hooks, I ask her to go sit down at the cafe outside, "Sure", no resistance. I lead her over, and let things get quiet, where she then hooks again with more questions and keeps the conversation going. We sit under the umbrella because it's about to rain, she sits in a chair when there was a couch right next, so it's definitely indicative of her not being entirely comfortable. I comfort build some because I think there was enough attraction off the approach, this girl was beaming almost the entire time. Not a lot of physicality, but I compliment her a few more times.

Basically mix up childhood, passions, etc. - just a quick blueprint of who she is essentially, I relate and listen mostly. After a good 10-15 minutes of sitting down she mentions she has to go because she has perishables in her car, understandable, so I close then and there - when are you free for a coffee, set logistics time/place? At first it's an "I'll let you know" but I persist and get two days she's good, set something up then disqualify the offer with "You seem intriguing but I'd like to see if you're the whole package" she laughs and gives me her real phone number (test it!). Somewhere in the conversation I also start to give a chase frame about coffee with cute boys, but she literally starts saying something about coffee with a cute guy, indirectly complimenting me.

When we get up I walk her to her car, and she gets a "Good night" from two other guys, and I tease her, "We must already look like a couple with them saying that, I think we're moving too fast!" then she comes back with "I think one of them tried to hit on me before you." and I said "Good thing I whisked you off to the cafe, then" and she laughed and agreed. At her car, I hugged her and said it was nice meeting, see her Thursday.

Feedback:

Not the sexiest vibe, but she was attracted still - more touching would be better
What I felt here was genuinely a curiosity to see what happened when I said "Hi" to this girl, not "Oh man I want to get in your pants, give me the pussy!"
Good job persisting when she said she gave the old 'LMK' - less experienced
Moved her and created a more vivid experience, sitting down and getting more comfortable was definitely and improvement over not moving, made the interaction last longer
She pulled first at the end, but I disqualified my offer and chase framed a bit, persisted also
Was genuine more than I used "game", but the "game" helped me out in the tough spots More qualifying would be useful
