Well a point alot of people make is that anything works, as long as you're confident in it and enjoy yourself. And cards seem great because you can create loads of opportunity for them being focused on you (eye contact hoooo) and light kino (obviously depends on your tricks, but I'm guessing you have a fair few where you could atleast touch their hands for a few seconds?).

Magic can work, and it can get the women seriously attracted to you if you do it right.

As I was reading your post, I was imagining that you could mix together magic, attraction, and kino at the same time. It sounds like you just need to work on your showmanship. Bust their balls and tease them while they are waiting for you to reveal the magic card.

WARNING: I dont do magic, but i imagine a trick could work this way: For example, if you are good at sleight of hand tricks: have her pick a card from a deck, and place it back on top of the deck, somehow palm the top card off the deck, cut the deck and have her give it a shuffle. she gives the deck back to you, while her card is still in your palm. This is where you lay it on thick Tell her there is real magic, but for it to really work there there needs to be a "spark", while lightly tapping on your cheek (as in, for a kiss). once she gives you the peck, you go "Awwww" your so adorable and hug her, meanwhile placing the palmed card on top of the deck. Now you say "ok get off me thats all you get" (in a cheeky way). And now tell her to casually pick the top card off the deck.

BAM AND THE PANTIES DROP.

something like the above trick would successfully employ teasing, kino, and add to your mystery. Try to remember, that an awesome showman doesnt do magic FOR someone, he does magic WITH someone.

I'm sure you already understand that the allure of magic is that it keeps them guessing, and that you should seriously resist telling them how it works.

Fellow close up magician here. I will just break down what my technique was when I was in college. I am not an expert by any means with girls, but I am not too bad, and I am not bad looking either.

Like yourself, I always had a deck of cards on me, mainly, because people would always want to randomly see a trick. It seems like that is the case with you as well.

I would never use the card tricks to specifically try and get girls though. I just thought it seemed a little contrived (maybe I am wrong). So what I would do, is do card tricks so that other girls would see me doing them. Naturally, they would be interested in it, and I would eventually go talk to them. Here is a typical course of events...

I would be at the dining hall, and someone would ask me to do a card trick, or I would tell one of my friends I want to try a new one. So I would bust out a few, and would generally get large responses. People around us would look over to see what was going on. If there were any cute girls, I would just smile, nod, and go back to interacting with my friends or whoever.

After a few tricks, I would then walk over to the girls and say hi. Though, it wasn't uncommon for other people to ask me to show them a trick or two. If they asked, I would say something like "What!? You think I am just your personal entertainer... I'm like a little monkey, you ring a bell and I do a trick?? No." So we would laugh, I would introduce myself, etc. Sometimes I would do a trick, other times I would tell them no, unless they told me something interesting about themselves or something-- just to show that I wasn't super eager to just do tricks for the heck of it.

When doing the tricks, whenever I do a fan for someone to choose a card, it is very likely that they will accidentally start to pull out more than one card. I would always say "just one, don't be greedy!" If someone else successfully pulled just one later, I would bring it up again to the original girl, saying "see! She just takes one, pay attention to that."

Also, with the fan, people are often impressed just by that. I would always say "thanks but that's not the trick!" People tend to laugh.

Sometimes, if a girl was really freaking out over a trick, I would make a fan, and wave it by her to "cool her down", saying something like "ok, this is too much for you, chill out."

Tricks where people have to keep a card covered in their hands (Red Hot Mama, for example), I would have other people cover their hands around their card, just to sell the trick. I would also not ask girls to help, by just take their hands and cover the card.

I would also make sure to touch people's shoulders a lot when I was talking to them.

At the end of the trick, when people are freaking out, I often would then say "I call that trick the panty dropper" hahaha. It usually gets a good laugh.

I also do a trick where I have someone sit on a packet of cards, and more cards appear underneath them. For that, when it is a girl, I always say "ok now sit on the cards... I am going to make other cards appear under you." I then look to the other people and say "I like this trick, and only do it with girls." People generally get that I am meaning I somehow will be touching her butt.

If people asked how I did a trick, I would always just say "slight of hand and misdirection" or "I moved the card when you weren't looking"... stuff that is really not helpful to them. I would also say, "it takes a lot of fine motor control. I am good with my hands... Ladies." It is also good that people know you around campus as the card trick guy. I would try and make yourself as well known as possible. I was an RA, so I already knew a lot of people, but I also would do magic shows in the residence halls, so lots of people that didn't know me knew I did card tricks. As a result, people would randomly approach me to see them during the day. That also helps with the whole social proof stuff.

You probably have realized it already, but magic is 80% presentation. Once you get the basic moves down, you are just putting on a show. Try and think of jokes to go with every trick. Also, if you are doing a trick for someone who hasn't seen it before, I would keep the first trick FAST and GOOD. People will hear "magician" and think it's some kiddie nonsense. I bust out Back in Time by Jay Sankey and people go nuts.

Anyway, I hope this is somewhat helpful. I find that when doing tricks, there are a lot of opportunities to tease people, and girls love it.
