Nothing ground breaking here, but this is something I wish I'd heard and internalized a few months ago: Pressuring the hell out of yourself isn't going to help you approach. Don't go out with the mindset of "I have to make this work right away". You're going to crush yourself with anxiety and make the whole experience of going out and approaching far harder than it has to be.

For awhile I was building up the experience in my head and fixating on the ENORMOUS task ahead of approaching girls all night and facing rejection. This lead to anxiety, entirely too much drinking, and subsequently terrible nights ( hangovers, huge bar tabs and an empty bed.).

If you just chill the fuck out you're going to have a way better time. Be present and take the opportunity when itpresents itself. Don't sit there fixating on what's going to happen.

To add to the sea of analogies in this sub: You don't go sky diving and focus on the jump the whole ride or else you're going to be a nervous wreck with a huge pit in your stomach. What you do is relax and wait for the door to open; you'll jump. Once you do, it's easy and a lot of fun. Sitting on the plane is WAY worse than hurtling through the air aimed at the ground when you inflict this kind of anxiety onto yourself. Exactly like the first approach. It'll be easier than you know, and once you're started it's a fun ride.

TL;DR- Chill the fuck out.
