I have a question on intentions from Mark Manson's book Models. In the book Mark says that one should be vulnerable and have good intentions, i.e. share stories for the sake of sharing, to connect with others. Don't share stories because of bragging, etc.

Let's say I have this sad story of my dog dying and I'm getting an urge to share that story. I question my intentions and see that I want to tell it because I want the girl to feel sorry for me. Does it mean that:

  1. I shouldn't tell it.
  2. I should rephrase it in such a way that I'm sharing it.

Thanks.
