Hello seddit, I'm just a casual lurker and maybe I missed some awesome posts about this topic, but the only thing I found was a short paragraph about it in Billy's guide to texting.
Soo... what's the best date to set up a date in your opinion? Calling her or texting her?
So far I often tried to build up the courage to call her, but lately I read several times that people prefer texting, so the girl has more time to think about it.
Personally I made the experience that calling her works better for me. I'm tend to be a shy guy and it takes a lot of courage for me to do it, but I get an instant feedback. Normally people react surprised when you call them because it's rather rare in today's society, but you know by their voice whether they are interested or not. I have a rather busy shedule and I feel like setting up a date via text would take a lot of back and forth.
Another advantage is that I have mutual friends with most girls I date. If I just text her, the girl doesn't know whether I use "Haha... my friend wrote that" as an excuse if she declines and she ends up looking as a total idiot. Several girls used that as an excuse when the drunkenly send me a message and I feel like it's a pathetic move, especially if you do it as a man.
If I feel like the girl is not interested and she blocks several days I suggest, I can still say that maybe now seems to be a bad time and it seems like we should meet some other time.
So... what's your opinion? Ohh and sorry for my bad english and any grammar mistakes in my post. I'm not a native speaker and currently incredible tired :P
