I'm taking a course on the unconscious mind this semester, and today I learned that despite that people always say that first impressions are lasting impressions, they are not. From the studies I reviewed in class, I learned that people remember you depending on how you made them feel right before you left. There was a comparison, one person that overstayed his visit, and was judged a bit more "annoying," but he turned on his charm right before he left. People choose to have a conversation with him again over the guy that made a good impression, and didn't overstay his visit, but didn't make the people feel good towards the ends.

TL;DR: If you do an approach and you think you blew it, don't worry about it, you can still come back.
