I am a fellow 'sufferer'. However, it actually tends to work in my advantage!
The brooding, mysterious guy can still be a great flirt and its often many girl's type.
For the best example, every now and then a semi-drunk girl may approach me and say something corny like "why so serious?" or "cheer up, its a party!". A few quirky replies and boom, just got opened.
Obviously this is pretty rare (unfortunately). The biggest piece of advice I received was to actually 'smile with your eyes'. You'll quickly find your entire face perks up and its not quite as forced as the fake smile. This will also immediately help with better photos being taken as well as something I consider to be a massive sticking point: piercing eye contact.
Have fun!

Holy shit the "why so serious?" thing is such a neat way to talk to a guy who doesn't seem very approachable. Gonna try that sometime!

I have this! I've even looked into surgery (some sort of corner lip lift for example)
It makes me look either scared / angry / or sad. Basically all bad things!
And If i go around smiling all day, I look like i'm mentally sub-normal!

Unrelated question, but does your face hurt because of restingbitch syndrome? I constantly have to massage my face and cheekbones because I feel like I dont use my face enough.

Haha, I just realized that unless I'm in my home I'm always frowning. I feel you bro, best of luck.

Smile. Every time you buy something at the grocery before you approach cashier remember to smile. Smile whenever you see some friend of yours. Smile when a girl is looking at you and you don't know what to say. At the beginning you'll forget it every time and whenever you do remember to smile it'll feel forced and awkward. But you'll get used to it and it'll start come much more naturally soon.

I feel like even if you have a mean face, people will smile as a defense mechanism. That's hard to believe, that people "never" smile at you.
Maybe it's because I live in Canada.

Without a beard I have it. With a beard I don't. I also choose to wear glasses which helps (large frames).
Peaceful/default face-- make 1-2% of a smile. Eyes catch it a little bit and lips are a little different.
Listening to someone talking face-- slightly raise both eyebrows, don't need the smile, its good to look serious when listening to someone talk.

What in the hell are you thinking about all the time that makes you have that face? Don't worry, I know and I know how to fix it. The same way I did. You have to change your mental attitude, you have to remind yourself constantly to smile, keep your head up, make eye contact with anyone that will look at you and smile. It doesn't have to be a big goofy stupid grin, just simple smirk or slight grin is fine. The trick is every single time you find yourself not doing, start immediately. Focus on it, do it. After a while it will be come second nature and you'll find yourself doing it automatically, you just have to retrain the brain man.
