Hey everyone.

I'm mainly asking people who are living in a European country.

I've read lots of posts and books about meeting new people, but without exception, I can only imagine that they were written by Americans for Americans.

Why? Well, in the country I am living, initiating a conversation on the street for example is almost unthinkable - apart from asking for directions. In the past, asking the time was fine too, but I got my phone stolen that way, so, go figure.

According to reddit, it's kinda the same in all European countries, so if you are from one: how you initiate conversations?

Or although I've heard that no talking with strangers on the street my whole life, it's the same?
