Hi r/seduction, first of all, I want to thank you for all your help. I've been on this sub for a few months now, and due in part to your help I've made tremendous improvements on what was most lacking before: an interesting lifestyle, and confidence/inner game. Still, I'm a bit lost as far as how to approach the other (main?) part of what this subreddit is all about–girls.
Here's some context, I'll try to keep this brief. Basically, I'm 18, just graduated HS, and am taking a gap year before heading off to the University of Chicago. As you'd guess from my future school, I'm fairly introverted, intellectual, nerdy, introspective, etc. I never had any luck with girls in high school, for a variety of reasons that I'm way more aware of now, thanks to you guys.
On the plus side though, I am reasonably attractive, fit, intelligent–so I have that going for me. I definitely have a strong perception of myself, and I have a great understanding of my motivations, values, life story, and the way I think. Historically, I've struggled with being intensely self-conscious and validation-seeking. I've been the classical nice guy, and only now I am I becoming more ware of it. Also, I read Models, and definitely got a ton out of it.
I feel like I'm asking a lot of you guys, but I have a few main issues that have been nagging at me lately, and I'm very interested on your opinions and suggestions. Thanks for bearing with me.
1. Meeting girls/women Currently, I'm interning at a small start-up, which is fantastic. Other than that, I train Brazilian Jiu-jitsu competitively, sometimes twice a day. I've never been to parties, and being underage, bars are obviously out of the question. Between work and training, I don't see many girls/women, particularly not any my age. I made a Tinder a few days back, but kinda feel like its bullshit. That brings me to my second sticking point.
2. Approaching women/girls This is something I constantly kick myself over. I see an attractive girl in a coffeeshop, library–hell once a cute girl asked me for directions as I was walking down the street–and I hesitate and do nothing. I get into this weird no-mans-land of simultaneously trying to think of what to say, as well as reasons why I shouldn't bother (she's older than me, won't take me seriously, I have sweat patches, etc). Most importantly, I have this nagging feeling that girls who are older than me won't take me seriously.
3. I'm hella done with high school age girls Seriously. Just got off a Facebook chat with a girl who'd friend zoned me a while back. No biggie though. Within a ten minute conversation, she vacillated between liking a dude who's a mutual friend, and not having feelings for him. And that's just one example, and one girl. Point is, girls this age are crazy. They're like halfway between girl and woman, and for the most part, have no idea what the fuck they want.
I'm honestly a bit frustrated, and part of me wants to just say "FUCK IT," focus on work and training, and just wait for college. But man, I have one whole year to work with, and time is a fucking gift, so I really don't want this year to count. I may potentially be traveling, but I'm not counting on it. Thanks for bearing with me, and for the help.
