yep... please do. for the sake of your coworkers. please hit on as many women as possible.
having to hear your shitty coworker and their 'higher than thou' mentality, how they aren't being paid enough to care, and how they could be making better money somewhere else can make for a shitty day.

I would do it. It's risky, but all you are risking is your embarrassment and a barista job (no offense). In terms of what to say, I sometimes like to start the conversation with an observation or an educated guess about what they were just up to or what they are going to do this weekend. It can pique a girl's interest.
In other environments and for higher paying jobs I'd say no.

No don't write anything ever.
You just need to be able to converse with people coming in. I'm a server at a restaurant, sometimes I'll ask if I can leave my number for a girl after flirting for a bit. I crack jokes, I compliment them.
I've had some success with it, but you just need to be personable enough to communicate on a personal level before trying to leave a number
