Well, this is actually a problem that is much deeper than pick-up, but then again I advanced in social interactions through pick-up before, so I'm thinking this will help me again.

So I'm currently studying abroad (France, to be exact) and hope to do so for a long while. I have a decent French level (I mean, I'm currently on a French cursus and my marks aren't bad at all, so I must have some capacity in the language), but daily language feels so different and so fast-paced that I find myself in a socially awkward situation. Group conversations go so quickly that I can't make a witty remark, or any remark at all. When I want to explain something I get nervous, which causes me to stumble on my words, which causes me to explain what I wanted to say very badly, making me look like a goddamn child.

I've still got quite a lot to learn in seduction, I can't even say I had a success in pick-up in English yet - however these last months have improved my confidence and social skills quite well in English, and I generally find myself much more in control of the situation when I'm talking to others in English. But the same spark is missing in French. I had read somewhere that people's personality changes when they switch languages, and it feels like I'm a "geeky but in a silly and fun way guy who's confident in himself" when I speak in English, but with French I turn into "That awkward dude who really doesn't add much to the conversation".

It's already been 3 months since I've been here, and honestly I don't see that much of a progress in this area. I actually noticed myself focusing on exchange/English cursus students for seduction, which feels more like I'm limiting myself.

Just wanted to spell out this problem. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
