If two people are into each other and they want to engage in any sexual activity then they should. Don't make up rules for yourself. Women normally do it because they feel like having sex on the first date makes them a whore. In reality it just means they know what they want and they go and get it.

Some people avoid it. As it tends to end up being a quick hookup/one-night-stand and nothing serious.

But it depends on the individual.

Why would you have such a rule in the first place? I look at the first few dates as a rehearsal. I want to find out as much about her as I can, to determine whether I want to continue seeing her or if we just aren't compatible. Sexual compatibility is super important and therefore I want to find out what she is like in bed as soon as possible. Because if she sucks at sex, having a relationship will be a chore at best.

I also tell her all of this during the first date. I tell her sex is important and that I don't wait for it. Woman admire a man who knows what he wants and is man enough to tell her. So don't wait to state your intention. You're the man, you set the frame. And the best frame to have is dominant, willing to walk away at any moment, and interested in what she says but not invested.
