op's planned response proves he's shit because it implies he's insecure and/or inexperienced. he doesn't know how to get from a girl giving him shit to getting laid (if he did, he'd never plan to say anything like that), and it's frustrating, so he's doing all he knows: taking a stand. but she knows what that means because she's seen it from 99% of the dudes that have tried to get her number.
shit tests aren't some contrived concoctions women make up. they're simply situations that highlight flaws.
the answer is what it's always been: never take anything a girl you're chasing says seriously. ever. tease, flip, amplify. BE AMUSED. you'll be an "asshole" or a "dick", but never shit. girls fuck assholes and dicks.

If you can't think of a witty way out of It, just move the conversation onto something else - then worry about getting her number once she's more comfortable.
Ideally, if you're charming enough, she will be the one asking for your number after a while, which is much better than you having to ask twice.
