I think if you see a girl who you're attracted to- approach. You never know what could happen. Pre-screening and deciding "well HALF of the girls are so religious ..." doesn't do too much, some of the wildest experiences I've had have been with very religious girls.

It's not "risky" unless their dads are there with shotguns. Don't approach every girl, just the ones that are physically attractive, which should be plenty. Approach often. Read the sidebar help on approach anxiety.

You have to remember you're approaching them to chat, it's not like you're running up to them and pouncing. Expectations are a hindrance to success. Go in with an open mind and an outcome-independent approach. You're growing just by interacting. There's no harm in conversation.
