Hi Reddit, I've been a lurker with another account on this sub since I became single in March. I was in a relationship for three years, that after being single for two years prior, just sort of happened, we had bought a house together, were madly in love, and like my other relationships, finally reached a breaking point, she was seeing other people. This was a blow to my confidence, for months, I avoided women trying to figure out who I was again, as the relationship has sort of restructured my personality.

Now, I jumped into this with both feet, mind you, I find day game uncomfortable, which if you can do that, excellent. I personally don't like when strangers interrupt me while I'm slamming down an Orange Julius at the mall, I want to be alone with it, and I believe most people going about their day to day routine feel the same way, am I potentially missing out on something great by not approaching that beautiful woman at Starbucks? Potentially. I deal with people all day in my line of work, and socializing with them in my free time, is often taxing.

Where am I going with this? Things that have helped a broken "Me" move passed being a wuss to talk to women, Literally.. Literally terrified, quivering to speak to them, was one day, something clicked. I believe I am confident. I am handsome. I have done well enough in my life that she is the one who should feel lucky to be talking to me.

Arrogant? Not a chance. I've met many pretty, successful women in the recent, and they're all stoked to go out and grab drinks.

Have nothing to talk about? Ask questions. What's your favourite sea creature? Favourite breakfast food? Have you taken any vacations? What kind of porn do you watch?

Texting. I met a woman recently, she was a cute red head. I thought I'd try something I read on here.. Our text convo was less than four lines. Essentially "Hey, I'm thinking you and I should meet for drinks at Barneys on the patio" "That sounds great, what day works for you?" "Thursday, at 7" "Cool, seeya then!"

Simple? I didn't ask her how her day was, or if she had a manicure that morning. Save that for the date, small talk over text leads to silent first dates, and that leads to a lack of a second.

Also.. You invited HER out. You should pay.

Fashion.. Gentleman.. I have an extensive collection of band, autoparts, and worn out Tshirts with burn holes from welding. The first thing I did was go out, and pick up a NICE pair of dark coloured jeans. Splurge, get the Levi's, they last significantly longer than the Kirkland.

Shirts! Get some V-necks.. Not deep V, you don't want to look like Jared Leto. Go to Wallymart, pick up some $5 V-necks, they have many options. I'm not saying go to Banana Republic, and blow your weeks pay, a clean, IRONED shirt goes a long way in attraction.

Shoes.. Yeah, they're great for cutting the grass, but women see this stuff, she worked hard on her appearance to impress you, why do you look like you crawled out of an alley?

Take this or leave it, but those small details have helped me exponentially in my dating life.

Good luck.
