I think she was polite and did not want to anger stranger being locked in a car. She could have said it’s ok to text just to get out of the car. Who knows. But unless girl will be the first to ask to text/hang out or anything - you are always in risk of getting reported.

I’m a girl (just creeping on this subreddit and figured I could give you an opposite perspective) and a few years ago my lyft driver who was much older than me was hitting on me the whole time and he also asked for my number, using the excuse of “sending me his mixtape” to justify it. I was young and dumb and gave it to him because I wanted to be “nice”/I was a little afraid of what would happen if I didn’t give it to him. He later texted me stuff like I was beautiful, he wanted to take me out to a movie, stuff that showed that what he wanted was much more than just sending me his music or whatever. I was creeped out by the whole interaction, not only because I was only 18 at the time and he was way older, but also because he was my Lyft driver and he shouldn’t be interacting this way with his customers. I’m sure you weren’t as direct as this guy was, but the idea is still the same. I think maybe she didn’t mind flirting with you, but the fact that you asked for her number on the job might have left a bad taste in her mouth, even if it didn’t in the spur of the moment. I also agree w other people on this thread that she may have felt uneasy that you knew where she lived. There’s some people you meet that you can afford to only flirt with, and you just gotta let them go. Lyft/Uber passengers are among them.

I’m a woman. She was scared, and cornered, and didn’t want to anger someone who now knew where she lived. What you did was sexual harassment and you should never do it again. I would have reported you as well. Creepy entitled asshole behavior, that is.

There is probably a youtube storytime video or a reddit post or tumblr entry about a priviliged male Lyft driver that was trying to get sexual advances and that she has reported him to Lyft and justice has been served.
