Why am I only attracted to people who aren't interested in me?

This is gonna make me sound really bad - I already know that. But I'm trying to fix it. Hence this post. Also not sure if this is the right place to post this; sorry if it isn't.

I'm 18F and lately I've realized that I have this terrible habit of feeling unattracted to people who show interest in me. I could be interested in a guy I know, but then my friends say he's into me, or he starts acting like he's into me and I completely lose interest. I'll stop talking to him. I'll just stop feeling the things I did before. Same thing with dates with strangers. I'll go on a few dates with someone, but as soon as they seem really into me (especially if they text me afterwards telling me that they liked me, found me attractive, want to see me again, etc.) I am immediately turned off by that and don't want to keep going out with them.

On the flip side, if someone acts uninterested in me I find myself obsessing over them. The longer someone takes to text back, the more I think about them. The colder they are to me the more attractive I find them.

This even applies to little things. If a guy walks up to me and asks for my number, I never find that exciting. I'll be nice, and I'll talk to them but I honestly just feel really uncomfortable the whole time. On the flip side, if there's some random guy I find attractive and he's ignoring me, all I want to do is catch his attention.

It's completely neurotic and I don't understand why I feel this way. Even just writing this out makes me think I must be psychotic. It also makes me think I can never have a genuine connection or relationship with someone. Does anyone have any advice on how to break this pattern? Or maybe, knows why this happens?
