I like to think that not too much phases me anymore. I've pushed myself into so many situations outside of my former comfort zone over the last years that I'm comfortable with more than I ever thought possible. That's why when I met for innocent after work drinks with a girl from OKC yesterday I wasn't quite expecting to crash and burn as badly as I did.

I can't quite put my finger on why I was so off. Maybe it was the bad day at work, or just some drama from another area of my life in the back of my mind. Either way my energy was sapped, and I was nervous. And I haven't been nervous for an OKC date in years.

I made every mistake in the book: I was toungue tied, I spoke nervously and way too fast, I interviewed her like I was writing a biography on her. I burnt through interview questions like there was no tomorrow, and ran out of things to say. Most embarrassingly of all? Flop sweat. I mean it was beading up on my forehead it was so bad. If your imagining her with a terrified look on her face you wouldn't be wrong. For whatever reason I just unravelled.

So how do I feel today? Pretty fucking great actually. I mean think about how ridiculous this whole situation was. I made an ass of myself. Everyone has these moments, the difference is you can either laugh it off and move on, knowing you can only do better. Or you can mope around feeling sorry for yourself. Your call.
