In the following clip, would you approach the girls DIRECT, indirect, or not at all? I have set the clip to start just before the approach at 46:15

They looked too young to me to approach in the first place.

I notice even the coach suggested to approach indirect and see how it goes.

As it happens, they didn't speak any language the student spoke so we never got to find out how old they were.

But just based on appearances, I wouldn't have approached them.
